Ana and Ricardo Bagnuoli
Ricardo Bagnuoli born in Montevideo, Uruguay and Ana Maria born in Bogota, Colombia, have been married for 14 years and are the founders of Transitioned, an organization established in the United States in 2017 that trains and equips Hispanic families on how to transform their homes in the best place to learn. They believe that education is a design and a tool to discover, nurture, and propel God’s given purpose of children at home.
Ana and Ricardo moved to the United States more than 20 years ago, and they learned from scratch what homeschooling truly is. They discovered homeschool in 2012 at a brief workshop and they made the choice of following the call of becoming their kids mentors and teachers. They are parents of 3 homeschool children 7, 10, and 12 and they have a solid business and academic background that has helped them to implement Homeschooling effectively and productively in their own home. They enjoy seeing other families grow, they like to cook together, read, write, do business and also camp outdoors.
Ana Maria has a Master’s Degree in Family Counseling, a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design and a Postgraduate Degree in Business Administration. Ricardo has been an entrepreneur since he was 12 years old, he has been in charge of multiple businesses related to the field of Construction and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Education. Both are ordained ministers within the United States.
For the past 5 years Ricardo and Ana Maria have dedicated themselves to sharing their vision as educators of their children, as entrepreneurs, and as minister of biblical life principles. They are passionate about serving other families and their home is a reflection of what they live and teach others. They currently reside in the United States, Florida and are dedicated to serving the community. Ricardo and Ana Maria see home education as lifestyle where education unifies the family nucleus and the learning process is done as a team.
Dr. Jan Bedell, PhD, MND
Owner Brain Sprints, Chairman of SPED
In 1992, a journey started that transitioned Jan from desperate home school mom of a struggling learner into a Master NeuroDevelopmentalist. With her new knowledge of brain optimization, coupled with experience as a public, private and home school teacher, she developed curriculum and training programs for parent and professionals. The NeuroDevelopmental Approach gave her hope for her daughter and now Dr. Jan aka Brain Coach™ dedicates her time to helping children, teens and adults reach their fullest God-given potential whether they are gifted, typical or challenged.
Lynn Dean
Lynn Dean is a veteran homeschool mom (35 years!), speaker, curriculum designer, and novelist. She’s passionate about lifestyle learning, Socratic teaching, project-based education, godly leadership, and awesome teenagers.
Lynn created Discover Texas, now in its 23rd year, to fill the need for an age-integrated, hands-on history curriculum for the great state of Texas. You can find her online courses for students and for parents at courses.discovertexasonline.com.
Elise Eaton
Elise Eaton is the founder of the Extraordinary Education homeschool center and the SPARC Station makerspace in development. She is passionate about learning outside the box. She believes that electives, enrichment, projects, contests and teams can help students discover and develop their talents and prepare them to serve the Lord in any vocation where He leads them. Kim Glanowski
Speaker, Author, and Educator.
Kim Glanowski is an author and speaker. She has been happily married for 28 years and has homeschooled her four children as well as many others. Her books and workbooks on recovering from bullying are nationally recognized resources for parents and homeschool groups. Kim’s programs to help teens and children heal from trauma have lead to profound recovery stories that transformed students into authors, speakers, and most importantly healthy teens. Kim and her daughters are also the authors of the Bernie Boerne series of children’s books.
Melissa Glanowski, M.A
Melissa Glanowski, M.A., received her college degree at the age of 20, her master’s degree at 22, and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. As a homeschool graduate, Melissa offers unique insights into the home education space. She has published several books, workbooks, and journals to help children and teens recover from trauma. Her newest programs incorporate equine therapy, which combines her love for helping children and horses. Melissa’s focus on attitude adjustments, such as eye rolling, talking back, and language have been instrumental in changing the dynamic of many families.
Joanne E. Juren, B.A., M.Ed.
Founder of Eta Sigma Alpha Honor Society
Joanne E. Juren, a Master Teacher who passionately inspires excellence in writing and learning, teaches Honors English and History at Home Education Partnership of Texas, Inc. in Houston. Known as a disciplined instructor of writing, she demands students use the Active Voice and elevated language when writing. Many of HEP’s students receive writing awards, earn AP and/or CLEP credit, and excel in college writing courses. With over forty years of experience as an educator and principal, Mrs. Juren founded and serves as the National Executive Director of both Eta Sigma Alpha National Home School Honor Society and the National Home School Science Honor Society. Active in the Texas homeschool community, Mrs. Juren owns several homeschool businesses including HEP Bookstore, L.L.C., HEP Publishing Co., and Home Education Partnership of Texas, Inc., one of the nation’s first university model programs started in 1997. A former homeschool speech and debate coach, she has coached many NCFCA national and state champions. Chosen as the first winner of the “Home School Best Pioneer” Award by the Calvert School in 2002, recently inducted into the Texas Homeschool Hall of Fame, and nominated numerous times as a member of “Who’s Who of American High School Teachers,” Mrs. Juren has often appeared on national television as an advocate of homeschooling. A world traveler, Mrs. Juren brings a wealth of knowledge, excitement, and experience to the classroom.
Bianei Nunes
Outreach Coordinator with Lone Star College-University Park
Bianei Nunes is an Outreach Coordinator with Lone Star College-University Park. She is the first college graduate in her family to receive an Associate of Applied Science degree from Lone Star College. Currently, she pursuing a degree in Applied Administration at the University of Houston Downtown. Her passion for students is showcased throughout her 13 years of experience in higher education. Her goal is to help students to reach their educational goals and remove any obstacles. Her favorite quote is, “Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.”
Andrew Sanchez
One of the biggest challenges with starting your educational journey is where do I begin? This presentation aims to provide information on how to apply to college and the Dual Credit process.
Students and parents will walk away with information and tools that will help with steps to applying to college, long-term course planning, and making the most of each semester (dual credit). Topics covered will include a comparison of the programs that most LSC dual credit students pursue, which courses are dual credit eligible, and how to begin developing a graduation plan based on students’ academic goals.
